Just because a thing is offered for sale on eBay, doesn't mean anyone should buy it.

Grant, the heads and valves “seem” to have escaped damage but I’ll have to take a close look.

Hello NewArt,
I know that you can use the 3.6 crank on your 3.2, but not 100% sure about the heads,
perhaps BYProdriver can chime on this, as you could end with a killer engine with your 3.2 cylinders bored to 3.8 using the LN Nickies..
PS: I better get back to work ..lol

I think the problem is that the 3.2 crank case has a big hole in it...

This photo shows the bottom of the cylinders not the top. The head is lying top down on the table.

I assumed that that the D chunk failures happen at the bottom of the cylinders (opposite side of the heads).. of course I could be wrong..
Regardless, these cylinder halves are junk

Yes, you are right on both counts: the damage happens on the bottom of the cylinder and, this bank is good for aluminum recycling.

There are some relatively low mile used and a couple of rebuilt engines on eBay right now. This one says it is a 987 3.2 factory rebuild for 14,900 or best offer. There are also some 3.6 engines listed.
