				Immobilizer issue but weird.

I have not driven my car for a few months. I have started it and moved it around though. The car sits on a battery tender. I went out today to start it and it seems that the immobilizer won't let the car start. I tried both regular and valet keys. I also checked the fuse on the immobilizer itself and the fuse panel fuse. The car locks and un locks and the interior lights do what they are supposed to do. Any ideas? Thank you. - Jason

Looking into both. I don't think either though. It seems that the ecu is not getting power or the immobilizer holds the ecu from getting juiced up. Who knows. Thanks. I'll keep you posted.

Update. Car is fixed. A mouse chewed 2 wires by the immobilizer. Not much more to the story than that. Whew... I got out easy.

Glad it wasn't any worse. Shortly after Woody had posted "Rats will die!!! ", I found signs of them in one of my cars. I got some 'Fresh Cab' rodent repellent and put it in all my cars. It smells decent (according to my wife) and has kept rodents out so far.

Jon, Please keep us updated on how well that stuff works. I was using moth balls after that one problem but the smell of the moth balls was worse than the dead rat found in the frunk. I got sick of smelling moth balls and took them out. Not a week later the rats had returned. Needless to say the moth balls went back in

I installed these, and no longer have any rodents getting in my garage. They were chewing the molding at the side of the garage door to get in. Now I don't need to put anything stinky in my car to deter them. Garage Door Rodent Guard
Jay, glad you got the issue fixed. Hope you're enjoying the new ride!

I look forward to the day my boxster is kept inside. Mine is kept under a carport. I tried glue traps and the only thing that happen was the mice would get stuck on it. The rats came and ate the heads off the mice that were stuck. The joys of country living on a farm.
