I can tell you with complete confidence that there is no way either a front or rear wheel will fit in the front trunk..




As for the 986 spare, this isn't the one recommended by Porsche, they offer the older collapsable spare - there is a good thread on Rennteam on the 997 board titled 'today i got a puncture' for those interested.

I doubt the 986 spare will fit the front trunk unless you deflated it, even then debatable, as the area it would sit in is further forward and therefore more restricted by the hood line than in the 986
