Clock Won't Adjust

I took out the cluster today and after it was put back in the clock can't be adjusted. I can push in the button and hold but it never starts to flash. It just displays 12:00 and but works going forward. The button pushes in just fine but no flashing. Anyone have any thoughs?

As a last resort can the clock display be disabled? It is an 03 with OBC so it is just the clock in the right side guage.

Thanks

Garage
If it always resets to 12:00 when the power is cut, why not disconnect the battery at noon one day?

Bump - I have the same problem with the clock not adjusting in my 2001 boxster base. Started happening since recently replacing the battery. Problem is after pressing and holding in the clock knob, the clock won't start flashing.

Clock knob seems to press in (and sort of creaks/squeaks while doing so).

Turning the clock knob to the left gives the expected behavior of toggling the distance values between miles and kilometers.

I understand the one-time workaround of disconnecting and reconnecting the battery at exactly "high noon", but would ideally prefer to address the root cause of the problem here.

I even took the cluster apart again to be sure the rod was in the correct place but still not working. I have just done the battery reset.
