I had only pulled one bank and 2 of 3 were cracked
One had a crack into the body but both had cracking around the bolt hole sections
So the thicker design, I think, would be less prone to that. Otherwise I don't know if there is something electronic going on with the thicker

Also It appears a regular 8mm socket will work on these Torx bolts

Even though the plugs I pulled looked excellent after 25000 miles, while I'm in there made sense to replace them.
