I知 also working on my clutch, Boxster S 2002 with 86,000 miles, I did some research and find out that the clutch and all parts related were updated in a year 2000, replacing clutch lever 996.116.712.02 with 996.116.712.04 or later version. New version does not have plastic piece holding lever spring. That was possibly another week point in Porsche design. My clutch was already updated, however I need to change the clutch lever because the clutch bearing popped out on one side and clutch lever was robbing against central spring. It is time to change all clutch parts including flywheel, because clutch job is labor intensive. I purchased used clutch kit (in very good condition) from 996 Porsche 3.4 L, however I知 not sure that will fit on my Boxster S.

Question about length of the new version pin; its 26 mm height without threaded part.
