What is this part?

Anyone know what this is and where it goes?
It's a vent-looking part made from PP and PA66 with an EPDM seal.
It's about the size of a hand. Marked "Inteva products , Germany, 18110579 RAY

Been driving around with it in the trunk, haven't found Its origin.

When you smuggle illegal children into the USA in the trunk of your Boxster? This lets them breath it fell out.. it belongs in the right hand or left hand corner of the trunk. Snap it back in

I was being sarcastic and unsympathetic towards the hoards of illegals crossing our southern borders. And I don't regret it

Thanks for the tip, but I still can't find the spot to put this one.

There are a vent looking thing on each side, but nothing that looks like it's going to fit on this part. The children must have taken the whole assembly

Smuggling, yes. Children, no.
