Bluetooth OBD2 readers and throttle values?

Will a standard bluetooth OBD2 reader give throttle position data on 986/987? I'm beta testing autocross track data software for Android that will except that data. The software developer is recommending this device...

PLX Devices Kiwi Bluetooth OBDII Reader

But if the Porsche data is proprietary, it may not work.

I'm not familiar with that device but OBD-II has 10 modes of operation. The inexpensive readers only implement 2 modes (Read stored DTCs and Clear them). The higher priced tools implement all 10 modes which allow you to read actual data (i.e., TPS, which is what you're looking for).

Regards,
paul...

We have never had much luck with cell phone based diagnostic tools, many of them tend generate false or completely misleading information. Sometimes it may be the way Porsche systems function, but in many cases, it is just cheap software with inadequate internal database information.

My ScanGuageII can read/display TPS, so I assume the OBD2 bluetooth software can too. I have the scanguage mounted right on my steering column.
