OBC Question

I have read several threads here and at Pelican on the subject but I am not clear on something.

My 2000 Boxster base has four stalks but does not display outside temp. Am I correct that I just need to have the OBC enabled or are there two different models of fourth stalks? One that is cruise control only and one that is cruise and cycles through the OBC display? Thanks for the help.

If it does not have the OBC activated, why does it have the fourth stalk? Cars without factory OBC only had three stalks.................

Maybe the previous owner had it deactivated for some reason? If the 4th stalk is there and it's functional then activating the OBC should be all that's needed.

My car is a 97, but it always shows the outside temp, as does my sister's 99 that only has 3 stalks as well.

Note that it's possible to install the four stalk unit, but not wire up the OBC stalk.

Indeed, hence why I said if it's functional (wired up), then all one would need to do is get the computer activated and away you go, much in the same way that someone can use one of the switch blanks on the center console to install a switch that cycles through the OBC's functions, no 4th stalk needed.
