Fabspeed performance enhancements

Anyone have experience with Fabspeed products and packages? http://www.fabspeed.com/boxster.html for their Boxster? They claim a 35hp increase with chip, cat bypass, air intake and exhaust mod package. for $3500.

Here is the breakdown of products of hp increase they claimed when they emailed me:

Air intake +10hp
Exhaust +12hp
cat bypass +9hp
chip +14hp

Adds up to +45hp?? It this BS?

Seems like the most bang for the buck is the air intake and cat bypass as the total parts for the 2 is under $1000 plus labour for extra 19hp. Seems too good to be true.

why not just supercharge?

I have a used supercharger off of my cousins 97 2.5L. The kit is complete, works 100% with the exception that you'll need an injector controller. Somehow I lost it. Let me know if you are interested. PM me or email if interested.

On that promised 35HP, here is one way to tell if they are legitimate.

Ask them if they will give you a full refund if the car is dyno'ed at less than that increase!

If they are for real, it seems to me they would do the guarantee.

Keep us posted.

Sounds like BS to me but that new exhaust system that is coming out soon looks interesting...

When people risk their lives, shouldn't it be for something very important?
Well, it better be.
But what is so important about driving faster than anyone else?
Lots of people go through life doing things badly. Racing's important to men who do it well.
When you're racing, it's life. Anything that happens before or after is just waiting.

My question is it really true in their sales pitch that the secondary cats are not really necessary? What is their purpose to the car?

2ndary cats are not necessary. I know the 2.5L's have only one set. I'm not certain but I also think that pre-03's may have just one set as well. Anyway, bypass pipes might not be a great idea as there is a sensor that plugs into the cat and it has nowhere to go if pipes are used. I believe this may confuse the ecu and trigger CEL's. High flow cats may be a better option.

Powerflow Air intake +10hp?

I just emailed him with some of your questions. If there is a money back hp guarantee in place, I'll start with the Air intake upgrade (+10hp claim) at $395. It'll be interesting to see what his reply would be since I haven't seen increase of +10hp on just the intake alone for Boxsters.

Anyone installed one of these Fabspeed (Powerflow) Air intakes?
