Problem with top

I have been having a problem with my electric top on my 97 boxster. When I first got it it seemed that 1 out of every 10 or 15 times i tried to put it down i would hit the button and noting would happen. Play around with the brake, emergency brake, and jiggle the button an bit and it would suddenly work. Over the past 9 months this started happening more and more frequently and it has been taking a lot more than jiggleing brakes and switches and sometimes i just can't get it to work. Then it will work fine once and then not again for 3 or 4 trips. Any ideas on a possible caue for this???

Thanks Mark

My guess is the switch in the E brake is going bad.

In addition to Brucelee's suggestion, contacts in the parking brake switch may be dirty/corroded or loose. Could have a broken wire from the switch. Relay for top may be going bad.

Do you have a multi-meter to test the electrical connections down the line?
