Diagnostic Code PO154

Right after I got gas this morning my check engine light came on. When I got home I pugged in my OBDII scanner and it read PO154. What say you all on what the trouble is? According to the 'net, it is an o2 sensor that is crapped out.
Any input would be appreciated.

tighten up your gas cap, reset the code and see if it comes back.

P0154 is the code for an interruption of the signal from the O2 senor ahead of the three-way cat on cyl. bank 4-6. Usually a wiring issue or bad connector.

I checked the gas cap twice today and it didn't go out (that was my first inclination). I stopped late in the afternoon and it went out but then came back on. When I got home, I opened up the engine bay an fiddled with the wires. The light went out and hasn't been on since. I'll see what happens tomorrow. JFP, I think you are correct in you diagnosis.

I just got the same code 5 minutes ago.

About 300 miles ago, I installed Test Pipes. 2.7L motor so it shouldn't affect it. O2 sensors were not touched or played with. Test Pipes are after the O2 sensors.

I have not put gas in days and I always turn gas cap 3 clicks to ensure it is closed.

Any ideas?

When my CEL light came on, I hadn't done a THING to the car. In fact, I only had it for a month. I was hoping it was something stupid because if it wasn't, I was seriously screwed because I bought the car "AS IS" from the dealer.
Anyway, when I opened up the hatch, the engine bay was really dusty and dirty (still is). I unclipped the connector and the bent the little metal tangs to see if they would get a better connection. It worked. (knock on wood) and it's been 8 months since. If I were you, I would try it just to see what happens. 13 years of heating and cooling may have a minute effect on the electrics.

Well my ECU says it is Bank 2, sensor 1. That means the problem is coming from the passenger/right side of the car at the O2 sensor before the primary cat.

I guess I will check that connection or move the cable around.

Bank 2 Sensor 1 is actually the Drivers side ahead of the cat conv.....had the P0154 fault code last month and changed that O2 sensor myself ...easy to do ....and cleared all codes.
