Start with checking your fuses. D3 and less likely B6?

There are two safeties , both controlled by micro switches that can be jumped out to see if they are the issue, one is where the little hook from the top goes into the top of the windshield, the other is in the center console by the parking brake lever

In my case it was the windshield microswitch cost about $60 and took about an hour to swap out. I could slip my fingernail under it and lift it so it'd work

Almost 100% certain that your problem is with one of the pair of microswitches where your interior light is at the top of the windscreen.

It is, indeed, an easy DIY job and the replacement pair of microswitches can be sourced very cheeply from the lies of eBay.

One word of warning is that the alarm sensor connector can be a real pig to fit back into the panel when you go to assemble everything and you need to be careful that you connect it otherwise you will get a toot on the horn a few seconds after locking the car with your remote afterwards, if this is not connected properly.
