If you put a straight pipe, you will very likely be pulled over by the Police for breaking noise regulations (they will hear you coming , no doubt . And if the Police finds out that you removed the cat (although unlikely unless they know about cars), get ready to pay ~$10K fine....! I bet the EPA regulations in CA are pretty strict...

Also, I wonder if you really will get much performance gain from the straight pipe. The large reduction of back pressure on the Boxster engine might even reduce your HP...
