you're not bursting my bubble....have you done a test drive to compare them? I can rattle off all my specs and I'm probably not far behind in HP and braking, like i stated in my first post, I have done a few mods to my 2.7 and it feels as though my car compares well with an S.

I haven't driven a 2.7 but my mother in law used to have a '99 2.5 and the difference between that and my '00 S is enormous.

When I bought my S a couple of years ago I did drive the base and the S back to back. The base was two years newer and I still went with the S. It was a no-brainer. I still wish I could get out of third gear without lugging around town!

i should have worded my question a little different, "modded non-s owners" should have been the title, I've got a little more HP with the FVD muffler, FVD ECU tune and underpulley when compared to the stock base.

I haven't found many Boxster S's or Caymans as fast as my 2.5

There is your answer, if you put the same mods on the S then you would notice a huge difference you have to compare apples with apples
