Removing intake manifolds - tips?

Hi guys,

I'm about to swap intake manifolds over on my 2.5 986, any tips or tricks that have been learnt from previous attempts?

Thanks,
Sam

I know that might sound simple... but BE CAREFUL and don't drop anything into the ports.

I understand that this may not be as simple as it looks, hence why I am asking for tips.

Will be sure to keep all loose items well away from the ports, cheers!

Ive done it about 30 times Really! No big deal, disconnect the the throttle body T and take it out. Get a long extension with a 10mm and just start taking out the bolts that hold the manifold on. Cover the intake ports right away with a rag or something. You dont want to drop anything down there. Good luck.. Why are you taking them off?

Cheers - thats what I was hoping to hear. What about the fuel rails, whats the best method to take them out. I'm assuming they need to be removed to allow the manifolds out?

Installing another manifold - this one has a small direct port system installed.
