The rear set-up on my vehicle is very aggressive @ 19 x 10 +31 offset 275/30/19. In addition, the vehicle has been lowered significantly via adjustable coilovers. As far as width is concerned, this is the widest tire I could use without having clearance problems. As far as the oem 17 inch wheel is concerned, its more of an issue as to how well will such a small wheel ( in terms of width ) safely hold the bead of a wider tire. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the standard Boxster 17 inch wheel is no more than 9 inches wide. If that is the case, I don't believe that you can run anything wider than say 265 and not have concerns about "rolling" a tire.
