How long does a OEM Boxster Battery Last?

I have a 2001 Boxster with 44,000 miles and just this past week the boxster was really struggling to start with the windows and door locks making clicking noises during the intitial turning over the engine. Is the battery starting to die? Could it be something else? I'm assuming it's the battery but it sounds early for a battery to die. It is winter and I just drive it on weekends so I'm guessing maybe the cold weather has something to do with everything but it would also struggle after driving for thirty minutes of highway driving too. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

No it is not too early for the stock Battery to die. In fact, it is just about right. They last 2-4 yrs at best!

Buy a new one at Auto Zone for under $100.

Good luck.

SP7... My 01 needed a jump when I picked it up at the dealer in CT. (...my wife loved that! Damn good thing the car was more handsome than Brad Pitt..)

It only had 15k on it, but months of resting between Porsche leashing and my driving it 5hrs. home. DieHard/Sears has a $100 battery with the proper drain fitting and it's a 10min refit. Better have your radio codes tho - or no tunes, nada!
