Jake,

I know it will fluctuate based on how many cars are in line, but do you have a ballpark feel for approximately how long you will need the car to do the 3.2->3.6 Stage III conversion?

Thanks,
Mike

thanks Jake! I"m very interested to see what you think of the techno torque...
First impressions and lasting impressions often differ. I'll be applying the techno torque to most every engine that sees my lab or the chassis dyno. Pedro has provided me with two test units.

would it make a power gain on a stock 2.7L that you could actually "feel" from the seat of your pants?
Ask me that after I test it on several.

Quote:
also, on a 2.7L "base" car - for a motor swap or rebuild - what are the best bang for the buck options? going to a 2.9 or swapping to a 3.4 or 3.6?
Since the 2.9 cost the same amount as a 3.6 with our upgrades, the 3.6 is by far the best choice. The conversion of the engine is one of the simplest.

Quote:
obviously the 3.4 or 3.6 will be more powerful/faster, but are they TONS more expensive? I'd be considering not only what I end up with in terms of power, but how much $$ it takes to get me there.
No more expensive at all. They take the same time to assemble and same components are used, just different sizes.

Quote:
For example, if the cost were, hypothetically, $10,000 to get a 2.9L with roughly 260hp at the engine, VS. $25,000 to do a 3.6L that has 300hp or 350hp... I'd opt for the far less expensive option.
Sure, but the 3.6 is where its at! Its the best combo all around!

Quote:
if the price is $10k vs $15k and the extra $5k gets you PILES more power/torque..then that might be money well spent.. i'm looking for the "sweet spot" of money spent and results/poer/torque/reliability obtained.
Absolutely.

We are working VERY hard over the winter to actually get engines into "stock" to the point where they can have the purchaser's ancillaries installed (intake, throttle body, etc) in the matter of one week and re-installed/ evaluated. The demand for what we are doing is very high and I already have deposits for engines to be delivered in Spring 2010, so it may be just a wish to think we can actually stock engines.

Our wait time for custom engines has been 4 months this year...

Do your prices assume we are providing a suitable core? If so, in the case of 2.7 owners, a 2.9 conversion is a lot cheaper than a 3.6 converson.

Yes.

Not really.. Good slightly broken 3.2 cores can be bought for as little as 500.00 and provide an excellent base for a 3.6 engine of any stage of tune.
