Question Nos

Is it a good idea or bad. I see 911 with it and I am wondering if a small shot would be ok. Just for a little better oomph if needed. Also, are there any good upgrades for headgaskets?

Seems this has been discussed before:

I already gave my input in that last thread. Bottom line - fragile engine with high compression - it's not the best formula for forced induction whether from a turbo, supercharger, or nitrous.

I personally wouldn't even consider it, knowing that a decent number of folks have had Boxster motors self-destruct without any kind of forced induction, and given the extraordinarily high replacement cost of our motors.

If you decide to go with nitrous, at least get a progressive controller to ensure that you don't spray at incorrect times. The "red button" approach looks cool, but nitrous at the wrong RPM and/or when the throttle isn't wide open is a bad, bad thing.

After tinkering with forced induction for a couple of years before getting my Boxster, there's no way I'd mess with air/fuel on any motor I care about without a wideband, a fuel tuner, and probably some fuel delivery upgrades. Even with the proper setup, paranoia would make me stick to a 25 shot or something like that... too small to make it worth the expense.

Do you see the small button on the lower right hand side of the post that is labeled "edit?"

That lets you go back in and do whatever you like with your original post. Like you, I never seem to get it right the first time and constantly go back to edit my posts.

BTW, NOS is probably the best way to blow your M96 motor. If you take a high speed driver's education course through your local PCA, you will find that even a 2.5 boxster is faster around a track than any car you have owned before. Really.
