Hi all,

I'm currently away from home and have found a crack in my factory spoiler (I also have a large aftermarket carbon fibre one on the trunk lid). I need to disable my factory one so it doesn't disintegrate at high speed on my way home on Sunday (5hr drive at 90+ mph). I haven't got my books with me so I was wondering if someone can tell if I can remove the fuse for the spoiler without disabling anything else, and which fuse is it?

On the back of the fuse box cover is a paper list for the fuse assignments.

Should be D7 a 15 amp fuse according to my 2001 wiring diagram. Fuse is only for the spoiler.

Just in case anyone else is interested, removing the fuse also took out the trunk release, so I decided to leave it in just in case it took out something else that was essential for driving. Pain in the ass having to manually put the spoiler down all the way home, especially given the crappy weather and traffic. I was constantly going up or down through 70mph.

If you have the paper list for your 2002 on the back of the fuse cover what does it show is hooked up to fuse D7? Since I have a 1997 and the electric trunk releases did not start until 2001 looking at my list would do not good. My 1997 list has the spoiler as D8.

So I looked at a 2001 wiring diagram and only the spoiler is listed for D7, but on the other hand I see no specific fuse listed for the electric releases.

I would not recommend driving 90+ MPH without a properly functioning rear spoiler.
