Just in case anyone else is interested, removing the fuse also took out the trunk release, so I decided to leave it in just in case it took out something else that was essential for driving. Pain in the ass having to manually put the spoiler down all the way home, especially given the crappy weather and traffic. I was constantly going up or down through 70mph.
