A failing front motor mount will cause a vibration at 3k. Mine did and a new mount fixed it. The older mounts could fail early due to a wimpy design and the newer mount has more rubber in it and is much stiffer. Hopefully it'll last longer. The old mount would make practically the whole cabin resonate.
