Hmm, seatbelt/battery question

Hey all, I'm in the middle of replacing the seatbelt buckles and wiring. It's going pretty well, but I had a question. I unplugged the battery in order to do everything. Now I'm wondering if I can plug the battery back in with both seats still disconnected and not get some huge error (or an airbag deployment).

I just need to close the top all the way, anyone know if powering up the car now with both seats still out is giong to be a big mistake?

Dammit, I decide to play it safe and stick the seats in before turning it on. And the metal seat rail scratches the inside-door paint on the way in

Can't I save even a little money without doing damage?

*sigh* Anyone know of a good way to touch up thin little gouges that go straight to the metal?

Why did you remove the seats?

Too late for you.

But if we need to turn the ignition on when a seat is out I put the seat on the ground next to the door sill and plug it in. Then turn the ignition on. With a seat disconnect and the ignition on you will get an air bag light.
