Bye bye, Boxster. Hello, C4!

After careful consideration (about six seconds), I picked up a 1999 C4 with 49K miles. It's in amazing shape. The second owner had the GT3 aero kit installed by Porsche - all parts (except perhaps the wheels - I don't know) are Porsche sourced.

I'll miss the Boxster, but damn, I'm in love...

Indeed. It's no Boxster but I suppose a C4 won't totally suck.

I think those are Porsche wheels, or good knockoffs. I've seen a few 996s with those.

Those are not Porsche wheels. Most likely BBS. Very nice. Love the lip.

Added another photo of the Carrera in my driveway. I have to confess that I grin like an idiot every time I see it.

Congrat's! I keep looking at doing the same (but keeping the 986 as a track car).

I'm not much of a fan of lower body kits or wings but that 996 looks great. The lowered stance and THOSE WHEELS look great, they really make the car imo. Congrats.

My wheels are similar and love the look. I hate cleaning them though. It's almost an everyday job when you are as anal as I am.. Great car!

I've always had an itch to get BBS LM's that have a similar web design as the op'ers. Seeing pictures as above sure rekindles the urge. Those 996's are a bargain right now, alot of car for the money.

Thanks for all the positive remarks. As far as cutting the top off - the sunroof is enough. It's amazing how rigid the 996 coupe is. My poor '96 Corvette - with the targa panel off - is going to develop a complex.

Nah, I'm already sd_boxster in too many places. I considered "the artist formerly known as sd_boxster" but that's a lot to type.
