Laser is the biggest threat today. The instant on operation and narrow beam of light make it nearly impossible to detect before it's too late, making windshield mount detectors almost useless. Instead of beeping, they might as well just say "pull over, you just got a ticket".
I've been using an Escort 9500ci, which includes laser jamming capabilities. It's saved me from at least a half a dozen laser traps already. CT uses the heck out of laser.
