Boxster S New Owner

Hello all. I have finally scratched the itch. Like I am sure many of you, I have gone the MX5 route, considered Z4s, but when a lovely Boxster S came up not far from me (my wife sent me the link - she hates my Westfield) then I thought it was time to buy. So, I am looking forward to learning all about the positives of the car, and the obvious issues, that may present themselves, but I reckoned that if a 2000 Boxster S has got this far, then anything major would have been done by now. Fingers crossed. It comes with the original wheels, but it now has the set as in the second photo, and Porsche indoor and outdooor covers. Let's hope this sun stays out, although if the heater is anywhere near as good as the MX5, it only has to be dry.
First impressions driving home were heavy clutch, long throw on the gear lever for a sports car, but what a lovely smooth engine. And it goes pretty well, too. Lol Brakes need a bit of a fettle - sqealing a bit. Other than that, it is certainly is a nice place to be to drive around in this beautiful weather.

The squealing brakes seem to be a Porsche thing. I think they go for harder pads because of the intended purpose. Even my Cayenne turbo does it!
I’ve had a 99 2.5 for 8 years, and it has become my favorite all-arounder. Great on the highway and the track—even over my 911.
Enjoy!

Who knows, one day I may graduate to a 911. The heavy clutch and long throw of the pedal? Also symptomatic of the marque or a variance of different cars, I wonder?

No heavy clutch on mine, but it is a 2.5. I don't know if the 3.2s are any different as I haven't driven one. I own one, but it's a project with a bad engine. Long story I won't elucidate.
The throw is on the longer side, but so is my wifes' M235.
We adapt.
