The squealing brakes seem to be a Porsche thing. I think they go for harder pads because of the intended purpose. Even my Cayenne turbo does it!
I’ve had a 99 2.5 for 8 years, and it has become my favorite all-arounder. Great on the highway and the track—even over my 911.
