air bag module

Hello. I'm new here. I-
have a 2002 Boxster I purchased new with only 39000 miles. The airbag Module needs replacing- Airbags.com said hardware problems- I've found several on ebay but what is the process to program to my VIN and what should I be wary of buying a used one on ebay? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Buying ANY electronics off flea bay is always a crapshoot.

One you have a new, working module, you need a PIWIS or PST II to code it to the car.

Are you sure it is the airbag module? Have you scanned it with PIWIS or PST2? These will tell you what’s causing the airbag light.
The most common cause for an airbag light on these cars are bad seatbelt recepticle/ground wiring.
