Man, this thread started out with "I'm gonna paint my wheels" Then in like 2 pages it went FULL wide body kit with a turbo VR6 power plant.

My cudos to you sir. Good job.

30k miles and counting of daily abuse. A/C cold, exhaust note perfect, supercharger WHINE, and torque... YES.

Love the 4.3. But the transmission on these cars are just too short for Chevy truck engines IMPO. Thats my only gripe. The power dies off at like 5.5k which puts the max speed I like to go with this car around 135 or 140 (I get scared of oil starvation).

VR6 is a great motor choice for this trans. And I'm sure it sounds fantastic. I'm not an expert on the VR6 is the one you have the one with the slanted pistons or the flat top ones?

Your body work is cool. Definitely POPS. How wide is the back end?!?

Back end is 88 inches outside of tire to tire. It was an accident because I measured wrong when doing the bodywork. Was supposed to be a total of 80 tire to tire but it worked out. The pistons are the flat ones. I still have a few minor things to do but happy with it.

I read once that if you have the right car you will look back after you park. Had to snap this pic

I am not really a convertible guy which is why I removed the top completely but man does the Boxster look better with the top down or in this case removed.

I was thinking of getting new seats but thought I would try my hand at dying current ones before making that purchase. This will do for now.

Before is on the right

I just rebuilt my calipers using the kit from

https://racingbrake.com/

I am no expert but everything was in the kit and the instructions made it really easy. Haven’t had too much seat time since completion but so far it’s great. Up next I think I am going to paint the hardtop to be more like the rest of the car instead of black and see if I can get the front bumper to fit better.

Thinking of adding a giant wing to equal out the rear, opinions?

Do it.

No half-measures. 'WING', not 'wing'.

On a more serious note, depending on budget, if you want a legit wing, look at the Big Wang Kit at 9livesracing.com. I saw that you post on GRM, got Aero questions? https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/aerodynamics-presented-nine-lives-racing/anyone-have-aero-questions/152845/page1/

Or DIY with some plywood and scrap metal:

I like to follow builds on GRM because i realized that i will likely never actually go racing. The wing in this case is more form than function as this car will never see a track just back roads. I will look more into the 9 lives wing however i already know this wing won't be mounted to the trunk. I have a stupid idea of using the factory struts that raise the stock wing to tilt the big wing in the back giving it more angle.

Got my project wing. Found it for a good price so couldn’t resist. May not keep this one but cheap test of theory and see if I like it.

Got my brackets made and test fitted. I will need to do cross bracing but first i have to decide if it stays or not.

Thanks Gonz, I may have to move it back some more or make a pivot point as i was debating at first. Currently can't open the trunk with the wing in place and that is no bueno.
