2002 porsche boxster front hood will not open dead battery, tried the manual latch, broke wire trying, but it still won't open. HELP
Use your key to get into the car. Open the fuse box. Use a trickle charger to put 12 volts of power on the C3 fuse located in your fuse box 3rd row down 3rd fuse. Wait two minutes. Pull frunk switch. Voila
Do you have an owner's manual? That explains things a bit clearer then this:
In the fuse box compartment under the dash on the driver's side, there is a copper plate that slides out. Take a pair of jumper cables, and on one end clamp the positive to that plate and the negative to a ground (I used the door lock catch bolted to the rear side of the door opening), then connect the other end of the jumper cable to a a car battery or charger. That provides enough current for the electric hood latch switch to work. Note: do NOT try to start the car that way; the wiring for that circuit is not sized to handle the current draw to start the car.
