Do you have an owner's manual? That explains things a bit clearer then this:
In the fuse box compartment under the dash on the driver's side, there is a copper plate that slides out. Take a pair of jumper cables, and on one end clamp the positive to that plate and the negative to a ground (I used the door lock catch bolted to the rear side of the door opening), then connect the other end of the jumper cable to a a car battery or charger. That provides enough current for the electric hood latch switch to work. Note: do NOT try to start the car that way; the wiring for that circuit is not sized to handle the current draw to start the car.
