1999 Boxter top

For some time now my convertible top suddenly stops working. It will work and then suddenly goes completely dead. It can happen in either the open or closed position. The emergency light works, the windows lower when I unhook the latch but nothing happens when I press the dash button. I've swapped relays and even purchased a used second one which I've bypassed the safety features one but when it's dead nothing works. I want to check the various pin voltages going to the relay. Does someone know the voltage reading corresponding to the various filter pins. Or maybe someone has an idea of what else I could check.

My guess is that if everything else indicated by mrw was good, the problem is a microswitch in the latch. There are two in there. The plastic that holds them in place can come a little loose and stop the top from working. In mine, the one that lowers the windows, still usually worked, the other one didn't quite make contact.

Take the latch down, see if the plastic relay block is loose. Trigger the microswitches by hand. See if it makes a difference. Somewhere on the forum, I know there's comments about replacing that piece.
