Yes, I followed that guide - thanks. When I grabbed the top from the 2003 vehicle I grabbed the convertible top motor, transmission with the micro switch and the newer solenoid. Wiring was pretty straight-forward and the convertible top dash light is working as expected. I believe I can track the states of the micro-switches via Durametric.

I agree the glass window and top liner are a huge upgrade. I've gone through 2 tops with the plastic window. We have some type of pollen in the Bay Area that eats right into the plastic and destroys the window. Thanks again!

I didn't need to rewire my micro switches. I think Porsche changed the top transmission system for 2000 model year and my car had the same system as the 03/04 cars. If you started hearing the beep after you rewired the micro switch, I think you are correct that the beep is related. The 03/04 top gives the car a more upscale feel and glass is simply better than plastic.
