Has anyone installed using the dash switches to control the OBC features? When reading the instruction on the Pelican website it states "To use this switch with the OBC, wire pins 2,3,4,5 from the table above to pins 1 and 2 of two different switches, and then connect the green ground wire to pin 4 of both switches." - This would mean you need 2 switches correct? Would you also need two of the white harnesses from Dwight?

I think you need 2 switches to simulate "up-down" and "front-rear".
1 harness should suffice, like for the stalk addition.

Have to be honest with you

I would go with a 4 stalk, they just do not cost that much and look factory...you can do it with one switch and just step through the displays...I can make you as harness either way you go.

Thanks

Dwight

Would someone be able to confirm that the OBC stalk from a 4 stalk part number 99661321910 for a 911 or a 996 would work for the 986?

Harness

Hello,
Are you still selling this?
Would it be possible to make a harness that goes to 2 switches?

Yes, I am still making these. So you want 5 conductors with leads for two switches ?

Would you simply like push on female crimp connectors (I will of course solder as well as crimp)

Yes, I think so. So that would be 4 signal and 1 ground leads?
Yes push on crimps are great for the switch end.

Happy to make you one

Paypal me $45 as a gift , let me know the year Boxster and I can get you one out in a frew days...since you are doing switches and not a 4 stalk I will make the harness a few extra inches longer to give you some wiggle room for hookup

The Pelican website has a DIY also. I could not get to the link you speak of. I am also getting ready to do this hack and got the harness from Dwight. I am also doing the intermittent wiper hack, and the dash mounted rear wing switch, and 996 gauge cluster upgrade

PD I have a 2002 S with 3 stalk and have purchased a 4 stalk setup. I plan on removing the 4th stalk from the one I purchased and adding it to my existing 3 stalk. I would like to purchase whatever the correct harness is to do the conversion. You can PM me the details and I will Paypal the funds. Thank you

Yes...sorry for the delay

I am still making the OBC harness assemblies. They look better than the ones that came factory. Right now production is running about 4 to 5 days before I can get you one in the mail. The current cost including shipping is $48 paypaled or you can send me a check. Let me know before you paypal me money....having problems with those folks.

or you can contact me at pdwight@att.net

Thanks

Dwight

I want to post a follow up to my buying experience with Dwight . I purchased one of his cables about three weeks ago, he's in AL. and I am in Georgia. He sent me an email letting me know when he shipped. Over a week went by and nothing showed up in the mail. I sent Dwight an email letting him know it had not arrived. We agreed to wait three more days and I should get back to him. Three days went by and no cable showed up. He made up another one and shipped it out immediately. Guess what happened ? Both cables showed up on the same day ! It was obvious the first cable shipped sat in a post office somewhere for a long time without being looked at or moved. The bottom line of my story is Dwight was/is a stand up guy that backed up the sale with a 2nd shipment, it was NOT his fault USPS messed up the 1st shipment. I have contacted Dwight and will be shipping one of the cables back so he can help someone else in the future.

Thanks Dwight
