I have a problem with headlight addiction, I think.

That green is so cool looking! Not sure I could pull it off, but I might just try :D

I'm soon will be on my third as well.

Developed this odd behavior of looking at car's headlights in parking lots everywhere I go. It's less dramatic now thanks to my wife (she strangely admitted she is embarrassed when I do that headlight-checking-thing)

So THAT had to stop ;) But I'm still secretly running my addition for anything above 2HP that rolls on wheels. No worries there!

Some more pictures in different lighting. I'll get some with the lights on in different configurations later this week when my relays and resistors for the CCFL DRLs and LED projectors come in. The green is just from the flash reflecting off of the lens with its green cutoff.

I still need to refinish my outer lenses. They don't look too great :(

Whoaaa nice nice niceeee, and nice!

I like your new set-up Charles. Those looks killer when installed. I was afraid that it would look too busy but once completed, lens installed and shades turned-ON, it all fits and looks good man. Job well done (again)

Looking forward a nite shot with all 6 projectors turned on. Curious to see what the light pattern looks like from a few meter away from the car.

that pic in the garage looks evil (i.e. green eye) lol

ps. where on earth did you find that P flag??? I want one the same

kjc2050 07-15-2014 03:22 AM

Fred,

those Porsche flags are on eBay (as well as other sites).

Oops... I've asked for it I guess

Was sure Charles' flag was from Porsche DE direct. I sometime get those mini letter-size flags when visiting Pcar stands at showcar events or cup races ect. But never seen the wall size one in a private garage before today and I WANT ONE TOO! eBay it is then. Thx!

Seen 2 or 3 at the dealership only and god I was so jealous. Almost asked the mgr where he got his as well lol

kids eh, with bored garage walls....

Something like that lol You'll see. Trying to play clean with the crowd

Sounds good, and good luck with your new venture.

Great project! My car has the stock Bi-Xenon headlights, but they look really ugly compared with these headlamps. Great pity that you won't get them through the german TÜV.

Regards from germany
Markus

Germany's TUV is 3,000EURO for the Cert and 1,500 for each design revisions/tests. By all means be my guess mate... I bet they take payment in cash also.

Litronics aren't that bad looking, maybe plain factory look but very functional headlights as well.

Ha! It's got its share of flaws when you get up close and personal...very much a work in progress, but thanks :)

I still don't have the LED projectors or CCFL DRLs hooked up, but I like this evening shot.

Don, I have a feeling you'll want to install those before xmas :D

Charles is (super) kindly putting up a DYI for you guys. Bookmark and use for when a bored weekend shows up. Takes about a day to do. Two days if you paint/cure the interior of your headlights.

You've seen Charles' DIY I'm sure: http://986forum.com/forums/diy-project-guides/53276-how-retrofit-headlights-hid-bi-xenon-projectors.html

You'll have to forgive me for referring to Charles with your name. I'm old & senile

Yes, I've seen Charles' work & his DIY, but do really think this grasshopper could learn at the feet of the master? Fred - remember my nick name - "Sparky"

Nine8Six 07-22-2014 08:56 AM

^ A while ago Don sent me a PM and he goes "My name is Sparky when it comes to connecting anything electric, but I still want to crack on a Vivo kit".

People on this forum are wonderful people. I'm a member of another and couldn't make the same comment as easily. Thanks for all the support you bring to this little product, I'm very grateful

Guys, can someone help me?

I have been having some electrical problems with the headlights. They work perfect BUT have some side effects:

My low oil warning light goes off. Turning of the lights and starting the car again solves that problem.
My battery light goes off. Turning of the lights and starting the car again solves that problem.
My automatic spoiler quits being automatic. Turning off the lights solves that also.

So, can anyone help me with the above mentioned? My battery is still strong. The car starts perfectly every time (even after a 3 week vacation).
