Fred I love your lights, its just that it is hard to walk away from a perfectly good and functional set of factory litronics. Had been thinking about trying yours anyway, just to change things up a bit, but would mean getting some "donor" headlights also.

Do I understand correctly that if I want something a bit custom wrt to the engraved script, I would need to order directly from you or your site prior to March 1? Anyway, thanks for your efforts and contributions.

David, much appreciated for that mate  Can't thank you enough

Your car front-end looks totally changed from that angle, nicely done.

Nah I'm sure it will be perfectly fine to request custom anything to Pelican after March 1st. May involve a few weeks waiting period and/or additional cost but I'm sure they'll be able to help you out. Let's see what their plan is, I'm not being told much atm... guess I'll find out at the same time as you guys (their stuff, nothing to do with me).

Firm on and agreed: I'm taking away the Add-to-Cart function off that GTP site on March 1st for the projector kits. They'll be "Exclusively available from Pelican only". Anyone wanting a kit will need to deal with them directly. Same goes for my mate here in Japan who enjoy reselling those, he'll need to import them. Same-game-for-everyone, no no undercut and all (do not contact me for a 'special' deal, won't work!).

PELICAN PARTS= Warranty, spare parts, xx days refund, top quality support, whatever their current policy is or will be, those kits will fall within those lines, etc. Cheaper shipping cost as well lol

Proper retail and customer support for you guys finally!

Well Good for you my friend :). But I for one will miss the old way of ordering them thru PM's and hoping they will make it thru customs and such. Kinda made them feel more exclusive .

Hey Craig, welcome to the Brighter Club mate ;) and thx!

Hope you are patient cuz I'm about 1.5 weeks behind schedule. Still faster than the usual 4~6weeks loll so no worries they'll make their way to you beg of March latest mid. Can't rush those things sorry mate

You are not alone who've pull the trigger I tell ya.... that's what on the workbench atm (2 bezels are missing there... it's actually 11 kits). I'll be anodizing those this coming Wed and get them out by the coming weekend. I'll try my best to get yours in that batch Craig, fingers crossed

All takes time.... no no cheap cast stuff at this end

Literally everything is precision machined. Even the mounting screws... stylish little kit lolll

Those screws are batch CNC'ed and then snap-out from their aluminum billet just like those kid's plastic model parts. They are then faced (cleaned up) and threaded with a M24*1mm. Not exactly the cheapest bolts you can find ;)

Fancy shots... gives an idea of what's involved lol (i.e. crazy)

These are gorgeous pics Nine8Six.

I'm also getting ready to pull the trigger, I'm just not sure what to choose between the 3 designs...

Yes, beautiful work Fred, I love the pictures:cheers:

I was out driving last night thinking about how well the headlights work, excellent upgrade for those on the fence.

No worries, Fred! I have plenty of projects in the pipeline to occupy myself, including Particlewave's de-ambering of the headlights...nesting, I guess?

It is disturbing that Porsche does not have this headlight seal as a separate replaceable item. But as it turns out I know someone that makes aftermarket rubber seals ! He currently makes many Porsche seals for the older air cooled cars. I sent him an email asking if he would be interested in looking into making these and he said he is. But to do that he needs at the very least a small sample but preferably one complete seal. Does anyone have one they can give up for the R&D effort ? For my recently departed Porsche I had almost every seal he sells and they all fit and were of equal or better quality than OEM. I have no idea if this will come to fruition or not but it's worth a shot. I have nothing to gain from this just trying to help myself and the community. If anyone has a seal they can donate please send me a PM and we'll go from there. Should I post this anywhere else on this forum ?

Any progress on this? I don't think mine will survive being pulled and put back on.

CHRISP357 02-18-2015 03:58 PM

I want to go order a set of projectors but here are my questions:
What is the difference in the three models?
What is meant by beam distribution? (Rh or lh)
What bulb type do I need?
Thanks!

Looking nice Martin!

Thanks Bruce , Fred's charles and norms instructions help a lot. Removing the old adhesive is annoying!

That's always been my least favorite part.

Looking great and thanks for the kudos! :D

I have a pair of headlights where the little rubber seal that goes around the whole outer edge of the outside lens was really gummy and messed up. I found that you can use marine/automotive rubber strip like this to do a DIY gasket or O-ring cord. The marine stripping like below is a little easier DIY as you just stick it on, but o-ring cord will look a little more factory, you'll just need to get some rubber cement and glue it on. I hope this helps some of you with the gummy outer rings.
