finally, this is an easy job,
done it 2 times last week 
i did remove the cover under the tranny to help me reach the drain plug,
ive decided not to put it back since its a race car

I punched a hole in my cover to make draining easier. Keep in mind there trans cooling ducts mounted on the cover. Don't think I would want to lose mine unless I had an external cooler.

That cover would help prevent the suspension mounting points from spreading apart too- know?

no, the diagonales do this, its pretty much only a cover that received the dust and dirt
and its in the way when you want to do a trans flush...
i dont know how effective are these little trans duct..
