It is a very simple process, if you have the correct equipment. Getting the drain plug out without the correct tool is a bear of a job. It is a 16mm triple square 12 point security bit like this:

16mm Triple Square XZN Socket for VW/Audi Porsche : Amazon.com : Automotive

If you have that, the only thing to watch for is when refilling, don't refill until it comes out of the fill hole, like every other car in existence. You need to use a "dipstick" to ensure the level is about 11mm below the fill hole. I used a small hex key, but you can use a paperclip or anything that will fit in the hole and show the level.

Lastly, I can't recommend anything other than the Porsche fluid. I exclusively track my car and have used Redline, Swepco, Royal Purple and have had difficulty with them all. The Porsche fluid is expensive, but seems to work far better than any aftermarket.
