Changing the color of the LCD dash gauges(freakin awesome!)

Thanks to thstone for the advice!

I used full color led's, some resistors, and a microswitch to do this.
I can choose from 5 colors as of now, and could get the full spectrum by adding a pwm chip. For now, five is plenty.

Colors are blue, green, red, purple, and blue-green(aqua). The pictures didn't show up real well, but I'll post these and get some better ones in the daylight. I think the brightness of the led's combined with the dark interior made my camera's auto exposure go nuts. The focus is terrible as well.

Blue-green didn't look any different from blue in the pictures, but did in person, so I did not include the picture.

How difficult was this modification? Do you have detailed instructions?

I have always wanted to add a green RUF style cluster to finalize my 3600S transformation.

Pretty simple if you are handy with a soldering iron. If you just want green, even easier. You will need 3 green leds and a couple 100ohm resistors. Tap two wires into any 12v power source(I just used the existing bulb socket), attach both resistors in parallel to either wire(this will drop voltage to tolerable levels), then mount and wire all three leds(also in parallel).

If you need more detail, just Google "led powered by 12v" to get wiring diagrams.

There are also direct plug and play leds available that you just put into existing socket, no extra wiring or resistors needed, but I don't know if they come in green.
