2004 Boxster S SE 550 Spyder

Looking to sell a project car. Clean title with 39k miles in great shape. The engine needs to be rebuilt. I bought it and it said it had undercarriage damage which it didn't but had a bad motor. I still have the motor. Trans is fine. These are selling on Bring a trailer for 30k. I'm asking 20k for this one. Only 500 of these came to the US.

IMS Failure?

Hi - do you happen to know what caused the engine failure - was it caused by an IMSB failure?

It went to Porsche in the middle of January for a ticking sound and they thought it was the flywheel. They pulled the trans and that was not it so they drained the oil and found glittery oil. Porsche told the owner that it needs a new motor. Porsches fix to everything is replace and not to repair what’s damaged

Sorry dude, but IMHO $20K with a bad motor is not realistic
YMMV
