Nice car, $7,500 is a steal! I would be jumping all over this if I didn't I have the same colored Boxster S but with tan interior.
I can't beleive how low in price these Boxsters have dropped. I bought mine 2 years ago with 80k miles, and paid 13k.
I think you'll sell it quick, Good luck with sale.
Cheers!

Yeah - I don't think this really reflects the current market. Certainly $10-12k is a more reasonable number. I kind of laughed at the post that asked if it is negotiable...what, you want to kick him in the nutz too?
Anyway, $7500 does sound like a steal - if he was in CA i'd buy that and flip it for a quick $2-3k...

Seeing this is your only post and it's your fathers car I think you may have undervalued your car. With the car being an S it could easily sell for 9 to 11.

As someone on the purchasing side of things, I think the price is just fine.

That's right around what book value is on these. Seems like a fair deal considering IMSB hasn't been changed. With the economy slowing and loan rates going up I think things will become harder to sell. I have been seeing a lot of boxster's sitting even the ones at attractive prices. Tyson's had a 97 Boxster for sale for $5500 and it took them 3 months. I was shocked! Good luck with the sale the car looks very clean! Looks like blue exterior and blue interior?

I've received a deposit on my Boxster today. I've been offered my asking price of 7.5k as long as the PPI checks out. I priced it lower than others on the market because we are in the middle of winter, and I need the space in my garage.

I'm not sure if he's serious or not..
As much as some of you gents who are looking to sell think I'm hurting the market by selling my car under market value. I really didn't list it for much less than what its worth. A 15 year old - 100k mile Boxster S is probably worth $8.5k, maybe $9k, tops, especially without the IMS upgrade, which in my opinion is only worth what someone is willing to pay for piece of mind. I've been watching prices on the internet for months. There's no way my car is worth $12k. The buyer got a decent deal for 7.5and I am very confident that the PPI will come up clean on Thursday.

I've been watching prices too, and have started checking out cars in person. The common theme is that prices for these things seems to be all over the place. I checked out a car last week that was being advertised for DOUBLE what your car is, $15k CAD. I wouldn't pay half that, since it has $15k in accident repairs and ****************ty aftermarket body parts. Same year, S model, like your car. That car has been for sale for months now and will probably continue to be, because there is no value there.
My other car is an '09 BMW 135 M-sport, which is a hell of a car which can be had for not a lot of money. So I always have that as a benchmark when looking at 986s, especially later model 03-04 Ss that are approaching the $20k mark.
I will say one thing, if it wasn't winter and I was able to unload my Civic Si to make space, I would have sent you the money sight unseen and your car would be in my garage by now.
