Hi,

Something's askew here when the '02 Carrera 2 listed just below it, from the same Dealer, w/ 12k more mi. is just $2k less than the '02 Turbo. That Turbo must have an accident history or something to be priced in the range of a Carrera 2...

Nick, make a tight deal, sell the Box outright to maximize your profit and finance in the neighborhood of $33k. That's like Mustang GT money. Easy.

You know how it is... you "mentally" get in the market for a new car, and then it's just innocent browsing..

Which leads to thinking of ways you can get the car...

And then eventually you end up w/ it one way or another and the whole cycle starts over.

Happens to me anyhow, lol.

I've read that the brain is incapable of recognizing the difference between fantasy and reality. If you simply daydream about an accomplishment or acquisition, the brain begins to plan strategy to make it happen. Daydream enough and the brain's effort increases exponentially. With a little stimulation, the brain will work on achieving your goal 24/7 until it comes to fruition.

..hopefully Nick's divorce attorney's brain will be working overtime as well when he shows up with that Turbo...

On the other hand...
1. Better to get it now. Much harder to justify an expensive toy after the kids come.
2. Turbo/GT3 engines are much more reliable/robust than the M96 engine -- so less potential worries.

Funny thing. I was just looking at 911 Turbos on AutoTrader yesterday myself and noticing how many nice ones are below $60k. I even think I saw a couple CPOed in the mid $60k area.

I dunno. More power is always nice, but my toy car has to be a convertible and the Turbo converts don't look too appealing -- prefer the Boxster look much more. Add to that the mid-engine advantages, and we may have a wash here. Or until the next visit of the rascally power devil in my head...

Z.

IDEA!

Instead of selling everything and losing 30k still for the turbo,

3.6l or 3.8l engine swap from roock motor sports!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone on here said they did it for just 13k total including labor.

Not bad at all, all things considered!!!!!!!

You keep the convertibleness, you keep the Boxsterness, and most importantly, you keep the money-ness.
