Weird Tach Problem

My 2000 S had pixels in n the center LCD screen so I replaced all 3 screens and all seemed to be good until I drove the car. The tach reads (mostly?) correct at start up, but every time I accelerate it moves slowly up about 2K until it top out at the end of the range then it will stay there. I assume I damaged something on the circuit board during the repair but before I bought a used replacement I thought I would check here. I triple checked the connections and they are all good.

Did you touch or lift the needles? If so, try to find a gauge clauster repair shop, which can fix that for a reasonable price. ~ 200-250$

How do I know? I swapped my center tach gauge face and had a dead tach needle afterwards.

I had a similar problem when I changed the dials. You have to turn the needles from the highest value to the lowest while simultaneously pressing it into its seat as you do so. I was reluctant to do it, but it worked afterwards.
My problem was an offset in speed and oil temperature (it was from the 997), I tried again with the described method and it worked
