Is this a standard bumper for an 02-04 Carrera? Or is an aero bumper or something like that? Anyone? When requesting this for my car, what do I call it?

Jeph, if you are planning on putting this bumper on your boxster, how do you plan on getting around the difference in the headlight area?

That ain't no simple bumper replacement... you'll have to upgrade your lights, front fenders and hood as well me thinks.

As luck would have it, my car will be requiring new quarter panels, bumper, and headlights according to the initial estimate. I don't know that I'll need a new hood for this transformation, but mine is dented and scrathed pretty good. At any rate, now is the time to pull the trigger on this update...

I don't want the Turbo bumper, as it doesn't flow so well with the Boxster, in my opinion.

I tweaked my photoshop job a little more... I think this looks epically cool! Especially with the lowering.

Rail26 can't hang wif my mad driving skills.

If I remember correctly, you need the bumper, fenders, lights and inner fenders, but not the hood.

Can you change the hood badge to silver? That would totally complete it for me.

That's not it... that one looks like Jay Leno's chin... I don't like it. The one I've pictured is more subtle and scoopy.

And if PerfectLap were reading this, he would definately say it needs skirts... but with the particular bumper I have selected, it still looks smooth sans the additional cladding. My beef with the side skirts is that I feel like they won't age well over time. I worry that, over time, it will look dated-ish. That's just me.

A Cayman front doesn't cut it for me djomlas. I'm not a fan of blending the 987 look with the 986. Plus I don't care for the positioning of the Cayman's foglights all that much.

Check this... this is the picture of my car I chopped up for this Photoshop job... Even without the new front end, it has come a long way.

Cool, I never even thought about that... that would look fresh... monochromatic. Hmm...

Just the other day I was thinking about getting the euro bumper if ever I got rear-ended... I really needed some forward thinking I guess.

I think a conversion to a 987 or Cayman front would be more extensive than what I'm trying to accomplish. Your idea would be hard because the 986 & 987 are considerably different body styles.

so u dont think that 987 fenders will be a direct bolt on to a 986?

reason y im asking is couse i already have a 987 S front bumper and grilles, that bout 800 bux worth of part rite there that i have.

also, is the hood the same on 987 and 986?

that's a sweet conversion, i love those turbo lights on the boxster. i say stick with this turbo conversion then to go 987. i personally think that these 996 turbo lights are far nicer. just my opinion.

i like those too, but since i already have a brand new never installed bumper cover and grilles for it it cuts my cost down a lot, and it will still give me a nice facelift, not that i dont like the way my box already looks.

i am just still not sure if the fenders will bolt up

I posted this same question about a week ago as I too am considering the switch. I need to get some litronics, but didn't want to buy them if I was going to do the conversions.

I think I will be going this route, but may use the GT3 bumper instead

i think that the hood is different as well for the 987 so this is going nowhere lol
