Front ride height and rear spoiler question
Hi All
sorry for all the questions but having my Boxster S 2004 for just over a week I am still finding out the issues with the car that googleing does answer.
Firstly i seem to be stuggling to get over any speed bumps without scraping the underneeth at the front
I have measured the floor to the top middle of the wheel arch. the height is exctly 24" is this normal. I have 18 inch wheels with low profile tyres.
secondly my spoiler seems to come up as soon as i drive the car and does not retract,
I can manually retarct it with the button inside drivers door, as soon as I drive agin it goes back up, again is this normal
sorrry for all the questions
Thanks
Rob

Spoiler deploys @~ 75 MPH and retracts @~45 MPH
When you first start your car, does the spoiler light on the dash stay light until you go >~ 4 MPH? (in forward)
That is the normal process, as the car is checking the circuit during this time.
As to the ride Hight, my car is lowered so I cannot help there.
However, even prior to lowering the car, running aground was common.
Try hitting the obstacle at an angle rather than at 90%.

With Key on, prior to start, most left ICON
The icon is a car profile with arrow to spoiler. on the far left of the lights. This is on 2000 S, here in USA.
Also I did measure from the floor to the top of the wheel well on my car, 24.5 inches, that is with the Bilstein B12 lowering kit. Perhaps a DPO lowered your car.

Thanks for the image, i can say i have not seen that light on yet, mines a 2004s so i expect it to be the same lights.
i am going to get the local garage to check the front springs and shocks as to me it seems a little too low.
thanks for taking the time to measure yours
regards
Rob

This photo is key on; car not started
When I start the car, only the far left "spoiler" light stays on. It goes out once the car is going forward at least 4 mph.

Had enough of the constant scraping noises so took it to my local garage and they had a look, seems someone decided to lower the car with race springs, lower than the garage have ever seen,
Car is booked in this week for a vinyl wrap a nice shade of orange then on to get some coilovers fitted to lift the front end, cant wait to see what it looks and feels like next week
