To me, its not about reliability, cost or any of that. Its simply that a Boxster is too much car for a new inexperienced driver. They need to get some skills and proficiency before going into a high performance car.
I really don't want to read a post here about how a young kid got into an accident in his "new" Boxster and is badly injured or killed or injured or killed someone else. Kids think they are invincible.
Miata is a good choice for a fun first car
