It is a replacement for the stock top relay. I think you can jump a couple of the pins on the stock relay to bypass the E-brake and maybe have the car moving and the top will still operate, but I doubt it would be one touch.

I did that mod. The relay jump. It's not one-touch. Have had the feature about 3 years and have used it as many times. Since I've gone manual... not so much.

The one touch is nice in the northeast. Since it rains here a lot it is nice to be able to keep moving and shut the top. The slower you go the safer it is for the top i'm sure, but it's nice not to need to come to a complete stop and have to deal with the E-brake.
