replace push rod for convertible top transmission pivot

Replaced the red cup, but the ball has fallen off and I can't figure out how to get my hand(s) in there to replace it. I can't find a position for the top to get access.

Help please, I don't want to cause damage operating the top with out both pivot rods in place.

thanks in advance

Not sure I understand completely. Do you still have one pivot arm connected? If so, I'd disconnect it and get the top in a position to look for the ball. If you can't find it, buy a replacement and install (maybe a little blue lock tight.
