I did the same thing to extend my AOS breather hose. I used thick walked vacuum tubing placed inside the AOS tubing for a few inches and then wrapped it in 4 layers of high temp electrical tape. Worked like a charm.

It doesn't look like you have any clamps. (Does it work w/o the clamps because of the suction inside the tube?) http://986forum.com/forums/uploads02/nova1628517104.jpg |

Inside the AOS tubing and high temp electrical tape? Wow. That's gonna be my plan B.2 BTW, what is the function of breather hose? Is it returning 'air' back to crankcase/engine? |
Farm engineering at its finest ;)
The AOS acts as a filter. The breather hose connects to the intake manifold and provides the suction necessary for the AOS to function. The AOS distributes that vacuum to the two halves of the crank case to evacuate windage, fumes thrpugh the filter and into the intake, and the oil collects at the filter and drops back to the crankcase. It's done, I think.
It's done, I think.
After spending all afternoon and missing dinner, and trips to Autozone, Advance Auto Parts, and Homedepot, and two 1 1/4 hose clamps, and a bucket of sweat, it's done, I think - The oil cap now comes off. Thank you, to Stl-986, elgyqc, itsnotanova, Gilles and ike84.
